Founder's Story Ebsource
In 2023, our founder, Ben Nguyen, President & C.E.O. of IDC Insurance Direct Canada Inc. (IDC Insurance), saw a problem. After years of leading an insurance brokerage and working in the corporate world, he had personally experienced how difficult it was for employees and even entire companies to find clear, reliable information about their benefits.
The idea for Ebsource was sparked at an industry seminar. Ben was struck by the complete lack of engaging, up-to-date resources for the very people who needed them most. He decided right then to build a platform that would fill that void.
With a background in journalism, a passion for financial literacy, and hands-on experience advising employers on group benefit plans through IDC Insurance, Ben set out to build a platform that made complex insurance topics simple. He gathered a small team of writers and industry experts who shared his vision.
The early days weren't easy. But Ben’s commitment to providing transparent, unbiased information was unwavering. He focused on building relationships with industry leaders and HR professionals, earning their trust through collaboration and accuracy. His work at IDC Insurance gave him a direct line to the real questions employers and employees were asking, and that insight shaped every piece of content EBSource published.
